Academic biography

Graduated with a BE (Chem) from UCD in 1981,an M.Eng.SC. from UCD in 1983 and a PhD from NUI Galway in 2004. Was awarded a Monbusho scholarship to study in Japan between 1983 and 1985. Worked in the packagaging industry with the Jefferson Smurfit Group from 1985 to 1998. Joined DCU in 1998 as academic co-ordinator with Oscail,and was seconded to the School of Biotechnology as a lecturer from 2002 to 2006. From 2013 to 2017, she was seconded to work with the  DCU@PNU team at Princess Nora University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her current role is as a Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
