Mc Master University Ontario joins AFU Global Network

Following a visit to DCU last Spring, Mc Master University (Ontario) Canada have joined the Age Friendly Global Network.

Mr. Trevor Holms VP for External and Strategic Affairs and chair of the DCU AFU Action Team said

"We are delighted to welcome Mc Master University to the Global Age-friendly University Network.  Their leadership in research and engagement across a wide range of relevant subject matter aligns perfectly with the AFU vision.  In particular their unique evidence-based research portal which translates cutting edge health research outcomes for a non-technical audience offers significant opportunities to develop meaningful, collaborative, research proposals within the network to further contribute to the global dialogue on ageing."

The McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA) aims to optimize the longevity of Canada’s aging population through research, education, and collaboration. Interdisciplinary teams work alongside older adults and key stakeholders to find ways that will help Canadians spend more years living well. MIRA also acts as a robust entry point to McMaster’s existing research platforms in aging, including the newly formed Labarge Centre for Mobility in Aging and the McMaster Optimal Aging Portal.
