Advanced Processing Technology Research Centre

About Us

The Advanced Processing Technology Research Group has been working since Janury 2000 in four main research areas. These are Production Technology, Sustainable Technolgoy, Micro and Nano Technology, and Biomedical Engineering.

Large scale research projects within Production Technology have included those related to metal forming, laser processing, polymer moulding, and material surface modifications.

Extensive research projects within Sustainable Technology have included those related to the development of increased energy efficiency within production systems, innovative pump designs, and new photovoltaic solar cell architectures.

Comprehensive research projects within Micro and Nano Technology have included those related to the development of microfluidic systems for separation science, micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) for separation detections, and novel devices for component defect detection.

Significant research projects undertaken within Biomedical Engineering have included creating enhanced life time biomedical prosthesis, novel synthetic bone scaffolds, analysis of surgical procedure for increase implant fixation, and development of balance rehabilitation systems.
