We have many people to thank for progress
with our collection:
The Arts Council for its joint purchase
scheme which enabled us to purchase
many paintings and sculpture for the
university.
We were assisted also by the Arts
Council Loan Scheme and have been
lent a number of the national
collection works over the years.
The work of the members of the arts
committee who have given their time
and effort towards this enterprise is much appreciated as are
donations from individuals and trusts.
Ultimately, we have the artists to thank for
their creativity, their vision and their
persistence; many well known Irish artists
are represented in our collection including:
Louis le Brocquy, Michael Warren, Patrick
Scott, Cecil King, William Crozier, Brian
Bourke and Barrie Cooke. Also represented
are many of our younger artists for example
Niall Naessens, Stephen Lawler, Taffina
Flood and Nickie Hayden.
