October-2009 - Congratulations to Dorota and Paul Foran, on their review article which has been accepted for publication in Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (Impact Factor 8.287).

  September-2009 - The group would like to say farewell to Dr. Barry Byrne and Dr. Katherine Welbeck and wish them every success in their future careers.
  July-2009 - The group would like to welcome Dr. Ferdia Bolster and Dr. Ian Crosbie from the Mater Hospital in Dublin. They will be both working on the development of targeted contrast media in lymphoma and breast cancer.
  July-2009 - The group would like to wish Dr. Paul Foran all the very best in his new post at the Mater Hospital.
  June-2009 - Congratulations to Barry, Edwina and Niamh on their review article that was published in sensors (Impact factor 1.573)

  21-July-2008 - Congratulations to all the students and staff that participated in the 19th International Biology Olympiad, held in Mumbai, India. Two Irish students Douglas Temple and Melanie Phair Macpherson received bronze medals at the event. See photos of the event here.
  17-July-2008 - The group would like to offer their congratulations to Jodie on successful completion of her PhD viva examination.
  14-July-2008 - The group would like welcome Chandra Kumar Dixit the new post graduate in the sialic acid group. Chandra will be working with Dr. Barry Byrne and Dr Sandeep Vashist on antibody immobilisation to novel biosensors.
  01-July-2008 - The group would like welcome Dr. Paul Foran from the Mater Hospital in Dublin. Paul will be working with Dorota on molecular imaging of breast cancer.
  10-July-2008 - The group would like to say farewell to Dr. Marie Le Berre and we wish her continued success in the rest of her scientific career. See Maries farewell party here.
  04-July-2008 - The group would like to extend a warm welcome to Kuntalee Rangnoi from Suranaree University, Thailand. Kuntalee will be working on the selection of antibody fragments against aflatoxin B1 using Phage Display. We would also like to welcome back Jenny after her 3 month research project in Thailand.

  10-June-2008 - The group welcomes Shraddha Brahmbhatt from York University, Toronto, Canada who will be working with the cardiac group. Shraddha Brahmbhatt is taking part in the BDI DiaMonD UREKA programme
  05-June-2008 - The group welcomes Elaine Kinsella the groups new secretary and PA to Professor O'Kennedy.
  19-May-2008 - The group would like to extend a warm welcome to Ireland to Assitant Professor. Montarop Yamabhai, (pdf-cv) School of Biotechnology, Institute of Agricultural Technology, Suranaree University, Thailand. Assitant Professor Yamabhai gave a give talk entitled Duo-Thailand 2007 Presentation: Molecular Evolution for Biotechnology".
  05-May-2008 - The group welcomes student Elaine Gardiner of DCU who will be working on the Mastitis project as part of her M.Sc in Biomedical Diagnostics project work.
  02-May-2008 The group welcomes Dr. Carol Lynam, a graduate of DCU who will be working on Improving immunosensor performance using organic conductors.
