Electrochemcial transduction is employed for sensor work, as well as characterisation purposes. Several electrochemical workstations are available: The CHI 1000 from CH Instruments is a computerised 8 channel potentiostat, which is designed such that up to eight working electrode can be placed in the same electrochemical cell with one common reference and one common counter electrode. The system is capable of cyclic and linear sweep voltammetry, amperometic i-t and open circuit potential measurements. There are two CHI 1000 systems in our group.

The BAS 100B/W Electrochemical Workstation is the top-of-the-line instrument from BioAnalytical Systems. It is capable of performing 38 electroanalytical techniques, including square wave, stripping and AC voltammetries, in addition to the standard cyclic and amperometric techniques.
