Engagement

Members of the School of Communications are involved in various roles which serve the wider community and society. 

Padraig Murphy is on the Management Board for the Community Knowledge Exchange project. He is involved with the Public Engagement with Research and Research Engagement with Society PERARES project as Evaluation Work Package Lead. Padraig is a lecturer in the School of Communications specialising in science communication.

 

The DCU Finglas for Diversity project was a collaborative community project run by School of Communications staff member Debbie Ging in association with Dr. Aileen Pearson-Evans (SALIS), Dr. Carmel Mulcahy (School of Education Studies) and Paul Rogers of the Cabra-Finglas Partnership.

As part of the National Action Plan against Racism Debbie Ging designed, organised and part delivered Media Diversity Training. This comprised of a series of short courses for minority-ethnic groups in Dealing with the Media, Introduction to Documentary-Making and Writing for the Media.

Declan Tuite participates on judging panels for online media and services, such as the Eircom Junior Spiders, he is also the the lead judge on the Irish eGovernment Awards

Declan Tuite has run media training initiatives with the advocates and young people in Youth Advocate Programmes (YAP) Ireland
