Active Citizenship in Central America: Twenty First Century Challenges

November 7th – 8th, 2008

This seminar seeks to enable productive discussion amongst academics and practitioners in international cooperation organisations on how civil society groups and academics (universities, research institutes, etc) can engage with each other in promoting a more active citizenship in response to the challenges and problems presented to the Central American region by the processes of globalisation.

A further aim of the seminar is to build a network of academics and practitioners in international cooperation working specifically on Central American socio-political issues. Those working on more general Latin American issues are also welcome to participate.

The seminar is part of the Irish Aid funded research programme on Civil Society and Active Citizenship in Central America carried out by the Centre for International Studies of Dublin City University.
