Talent Search
(Secondary School Students 12-16 years)
The talent search process provides valuable assessment and information for students, parents and teachers while students are still young enough to plan their education.
Participating students will :
1. Have
the opportunity to take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). The test is an
excellent indicator of mathematical and verbal reasoning ability at a young age.
2.
Have the opportunity to qualify for merit scholarships towards the cost of 2010 CTYI Summer Programme at Dublin City University. Merit
scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding performance in the PSAT. The age of
the student is also taken into account. Please note merit scholarships may only be awarded
to the same prize winner for no more than two years.
3. Gain
a certificate of participation from Dublin City University for their school record with
awards for top scorers.
4.
Be invited to our annual discovery days which explore challenging topics and
on-line correspondence courses.
5. Be
invited to take part in CTYI summer academic programmes should they reach certain age
dependent standards on the PSAT.
