- Would you like to improve your fitness, feel better and meet folk just like yourself in a safe, medically supervised setting?
‘BreatheSmart’ is a medically supervised programme for people with chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) and other respiratory illnesses. Based in DCU Sport, it offers participants the opportunity to attend for
- regular enjoyable exercise classes with
- medical supervision
- careful monitoring
- a casual and really friendly atmosphere
- fitness testing for COPD
- classes / seminars on
- healthy eating
- proper use of medications
- how to change your behaviour
- smoking cessation
Participants are asked to attend 2 sessions per week for at least 3 months. DCU Sport has excellent facilities and a staff that has the experience, enthusiasm and expertise to assist people with various illnesses (including COPD) to take part in regular exercise, to become fitter and healthier and to enjoy an active life
