Professional Masters in Education (formerly PDE)

“Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.”
John Dewey (1951)

We offer a two year flexible Professional Masters in Education (PME) for those who already hold an undergraduate degree and who wish to obtain a recognised qualification for second-level teaching. It addresses the need for a flexible teacher training qualification for unqualified people, who want to work in second-level schools but who are not in a position to engage in a full-time programme of study. The programme is currently being reconceptualised as a Professional Masters in Education and subject to the approval of the Teaching Council all students starting from 2014 onwards will be enrolled onto the PME programme.

Closing date for applications for entry in 2014 has been extended to 28th of February 2014

Programme Chair: Dr James O'Higgins Norman
Director of School Placement: Dr Shivaun O'Brien
