Upcoming Conference: Changing Boundaries: Spirituality and Education
WISER is an international research consortium for the study of intercultural and spiritual dimensions in education with a particular focus on how these themes impact on the wellbeing of young people.
WISER was founded in 2008 by Dr. Marian de Souza (Australian Catholic University) and Dr. James O’Higgins-Norman (Dublin City University) and is based in the School of Education Studies at Dublin City University, Ireland.
Aim:
WISER brings together and supports researchers and senior practitioners who inform educational policy and practice in a global environment.
Objectives:
WISER members:
- Engage with emerging ethical issues in society as they impact on educational communities.
- Maintain an international network to enhance and promote good practice in intercultural education.
- Recognise that education addresses the human person in his/her totality.
- Ensure that educational practice promotes inclusivity, social cohesion and spiritual capital.
- Provide a forum for critical engagement between educational researchers and practitioners.
