A further payment is due by all EU/EEA PAC applicants prior to registration in September 2011. The amount of this installment is dependent on the total cost of your programme, however you must have paid at least 60% of your total course fee prior to registration. Please note that the €500.00 you would have paid in order to secure your place earlier in the year is part of this 60%. It is the responsibility of all PAC applicants to ensure they have paid the appropriate fee.
The final installment of your fees is due for payment on Friday 20th January 2012 again we ask that you check the fees website to familiarize yourself with the relevant fee.

PROOF OF PAYMENT
Students are required to present the stamped bank giro receipt for fees at registration if they are not in receipt of a higher education grant. This giro also acts as an official receipt for tax purposes. N.B. A Search Fee of €15.00 (payable in advance) will be charged for duplicate receipts.
FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
First year students who wish to pursue undergraduate programmes, and who have applied for their place through the C.A.O., will receive detailed instructions for fee payment in the C.A.O. Offer Notice.
First year students who wish to pursue undergraduate programmes, and who have applied directly to the University, and students entering the first year of study in postgraduate programmes, will receive detailed instructions in the offer letter from the University.
STUDENTS IN RECEIPT OF GRANTS
Any fees, paid by a student, who is subsequently awarded a grant, will be refunded when the University receives the fees from the Local Authority or Vocational Education Committee.
It should be noted that the fees for some taught postgraduate programmes are not fully covered by the fees grant. In such cases, the student will be required to pay directly to the University any shortfall in fees which arises. The threshold for fees paid by Local Authorities for academic year 2011/12 is €6,270
STUDENT CENTRE LEVY €38.00
This levy does not attract grant support and so students in receipt of grants from Local Authorities or Vocational Education Committees are required to pay the levy directly to the University.
PENALTIES
Fines will be imposed if fees are not paid by the due dates. A late payment fine of €170 will be imposed in respect of each instalment unless prior arrangements have been made in writing with the Finance Office. If the instalment due, together with the late payment fine of €170 has still not been paid one month after the due date, an additional fine of €35 per week will be imposed until the fees outstanding have been paid. In addition, if fees (including late payment fines) have not been paid in full by 7th January 2012, all University facilities will be withdrawn, and the student will be prohibited from sitting examinations. If fees (including late payment fines) have not been paid in full by 11th February 2012, the student may be deregistered.
REMISSION OF FEES
Students experiencing financial difficulties may apply for a remission of fees, on the appropriate form, which can be obtained from either the Finance Office or Student Support & Development. Note, however, that a remission of fees is not usually granted to students in the first year of a programme of study.
