About TKE/Faoi TKE

The Association for Terminology and Knowledge Transfer (GTW)

- was founded in Trier in 1986 by Infoterm in order to organize the First International Congress on Terminology and Knowledge Engineering in 1987, which successfully developed into a whole conference series over time.

- is a national and international forum for the promotion of knowledge and technology transfer through research and development. Particular attention is paid to the computer-specific representation, maintenance and adaptation of information and knowledge.

The tasks of GTW include the organization or co-organization of symposia, congresses and workshops, especially theTKE Conferences (1987 and 1990 in Trier, 1993 in Cologne, 1996 in Vienna, 1999 in Innsbruck, 2002 in Nancy, and 2005 & 2008 in Copenhagen).  About 100-350 scientists, developers and users from the fields of terminology, computer science, documentation, computer linguistics and related subjects participated in each of these congresses.
