Service-Users’ Perspectives Stream
In this stream we want to explore issues of power that have direct impact on patient autonomy. Tensions can arise between professional duties, bounded by ethical codes of practice with threats of litigation ever present, and expectations from patients of high levels of autonomy and involvement in their own care and treatment. We would like this stream to be as interactive and engaging as possible to enable dialogue to take place on this important issue. We welcome submissions from service users, carers and health providers with experience of user involvement in service design and receiving/providing treatment.
