information
alcohol regulations
- Students drinking alcohol on campus are expected to use alcohol
in a
responsible manner. Being drunk on campus will be deemed to be an offence in
the context of the University's Code of Discipline.
- The licensed premises within the Campus Social Centre are the main
lounge, function room, and terrace. Students are not permitted to bring their
own drink into the licensed premises or to take any drink out of them.
- Clubs, societies or other student groups who wish to organise
receptions or functions involving alcohol may do so only in the following
ways:
- in the Campus Social Centre licensed premises, with the permission of the
Centre Manager and under the conditions laid down by the Management Committee
of the Centre; or
- by arrangement with the campus caterers, with the food and drink being
supplied by the caterers.
- If free alcoholic drinks are provided at any function, free soft
drinks must also be provided.
- The club which runs the licensed premises, the 'City CentreClub', has agreed rules for members and also rules for the use of the
function room. These are reproduced in this Handbook. Any changes will be
posted on the club noticeboard in the main lounge.
