Université de Paris IV-Sorbonne: BA in English Studies (with French, German major, Spanish and Dutch minor), MA in Anglo-Irish Literature, M.Phil in Comparative Literature, PhD (received with Commendation) in Comparative Literature (supervisor Prof. Pierre Brunel, director of the Ecole Doctorale de Littérature Comparée de la Sorbonne).

Research Interests:

Comparative Literature: history and theory of the discipline (reception, intertextuality, imagology, geocriticism). Literary relations between France and Ireland (esp. Gustave Flaubert in relation to G. Moore, O. Wilde, J. Joyce, E. Bowen and S. Beckett). Literature and the visual arts (ekphrasis, photoetry, novelists as art critics, livre d¿artiste, novelists as screen writers, cinécriture, filmic adaptations of literary works, Orientalism in art and film). Literature and Ethics.
