Biographical Details:

Director of the Materials Processing Research Centre, Lisa Looney has worked at DCU since 1995. She is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and has a leadership role as Teaching Convenor in the development and management of taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Lisa's PhD was awarded in 1994 by Trinity College Dublin, for reserch carried out at the EU's Institute for Advanced Materials, the Netherlands.

Research Interests:

Lisa's focus is the optimisation of advanced processes to improve functionality of structural and biomaterials. Specific ares include: biomaterials (ceramic /polymer composites), Powder Metallurgy, Thermal Spraying, Surface Engineering, Fatigue.
