Biographical Details:

Gordon McConnell is a graduate of Dundalk Institute of Technology (Diploma in Business Studies), the National University of Ireland Galway (B.Comm, MBS) and was awarded an Executive Certificate in Leadership and Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He was Marketing Graduate of the Year in NUI Galway in 1993, and the Westinghouse Scholarship award winner. Gordon has worked in various marketing and international marketing roles in industry before joining the UK and Ireland Strategy Practice of Andersen Consulting in 1998 (now Accenture). Gordon left with other Accenture colleagues to start the venture capital and strategic consulting firm HotOrigin in 2000. Gordon has worked on strategic projects for a range of organisations including An Post, Microsoft, Thomas Cook, ACC Bank, the Marine Institute, Trinity College Dublin, the Adare Group and various start-ups. In 2003 he joined Dublin City University, becoming the Head of Strategic Planning in 2004. Gordon is currently the Head of Strategy and Administration, heading up the Presidents Office in DCU. He has served on the board of various organisations including the Finglas Cabra Partnership and the National Gallery of Photography. He is currently doing a Masters by Research in the DCU Business School.
