Biographical Details:

Born in Cork City in 1968, Educated by the Christian Brothers at Sullivan's Quay and later at UCC, BA 1990, MA 1992, DCU, Ph.D. 1996. Worked in DCU since 1995 originally in the Business School, and am now Associate Professor of Government in the School of Law and Government. I am a former editor of Irish Political Studies, the leading journal of political science in Ireland published by Taylor and Francis. In 2007 I was appointed DCU's first Dean of Graduate Studies and I served in that position until 2011. I was President of the Political Studies Association of Ireland from 2009 to 2012. In 2011-12 I was visiting Fulbright Professor of Politics in the Center for European Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I am currently the Head of the School of Law and Government.
