Biographical Details:
1988 Diploma in Biology, J.Gutenberg University,Mainz, Germany. 1988-1990 Research student, Max Planck Institute, Munich, Germany. 1994 Ph.D University of Zurich, Switzerland 1995 First Post-doc, Brain Research Institute, Zurich, Switzerland 1996-1998 Second Post-doc, Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario, Canada. 1998-2002 Carrier break to start a family since 2002 research scientist at the NICB, DCU, Dublin Ireland.
Research Interests:
Cellular and molecular studies on tumour-host interaction, tumour cell invasion and multidrug resistance in malignant brain tumours, testing of a large pannel of inhibitory and/or toxic compounds with respect to future therapeutical applications, Identification of microRNAs in primary brain tumour cell lines, Identification of biomarkers in blood serum of brain tumour patients.
