Dr Justin Rami
Biographical Details:
Justin is the Programme Chair for the BSc in Education & Training (Flexible Learning strand). Justin Rami is also a lecturer and researcher in the School of Education Studies at Dublin City University. At undergraduate level he teaches in the areas of Teaching & Learning Methodologies, Advanced Teaching Strategies, Curriculum Implementation & Assessment, Feedback, Microteaching and Teaching Preparation & Developing a Research Perspective. Added to these modules Justin also delivers lectures and workshops on Academic Writing and using Critical Voices in academic writing. At postgraduate level he teaches in the area of Organisational Behaviour and Organisational Communications. Justin coordinates the Professional Management Skills area of he MSc in Education & Training (Leadership Strand), which covers areas such as Intercultural competence, Lean Six Sigma, Positive Psychology, Talent management, Coaching, Reflective practice and Communication and Perception.
Research Interests:
Justins current research expertise is in the area of Teaching and Learning with a specific focus on Assessment. Justin has published over 40 articles, books and chapters relating to assessment, quality assurance and accreditation. Justins current research activities include a longitudinal study examining the influence of the Bologna process on student learning, with particular focus on constructive alignment and assessment. Justin has 10 years experience working on European research projects many within the Leonardo frameworks and focusing on Assessment, RPL, Qualification Frameworks, Accreditation and Transfer and Progression. Justin is a member of the European CiCe Network. The 13th Annual CiCe conference was held in DCU in June 2011, which was jointly organized by Justin. Justin is also a member of the ECER VETNET network. Other current and recent research work focuses on Curriculum Assessment and Implementation, Vocational Education and Training, Citizenship and Diversity. He is a recipient of DCU's Teaching & Learning Award in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Justin has also conducted research for OECD, Arts Council, NFTE, FETAC, & the NQAI. Justin's background is in Development Education and Community Arts and he has worked as an educator and researcher in Nigeria, Malawi, Mozambique, Uganda, Japan, Croatia, Bosnia and India.
