Academic Qualifications: ir. (M.Sc. equivalent) in Engineering Physics (1994) at Eindhoven University of Technology. Ph.D. degree in Atomic Physics awarded in 1998 at University College Dublin. Career Outline: Postdoctoral research in the Centre fro Laser Plasma Research at DCU (1997-2000); working on XUV photoabsorption of silicon and uranium. Appointed to assistant lecturer post in DCU in 2000. Appointed to permanent (tenured) post in 2002 with Physics Education as remit. Lecturer in School of Physical Sciences 2002-present.
