Biography


Biographical Details:

Carmen Mangiron is a lecturer in Spanish in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies at DCU. She took a BA in Translation and Interpreting in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. She gained an MA in Anglo-Irish Literatura and Drama from University College Dublin with her research on Roddy Doyle's works. Her Ph. D. research is the descriptive study of seven translations in three different languages of the Japanese classic Botchan and examines the relationship between cultural references, the techniques used to translate them and the translation norms present in a given target culture at the time of the translation. She is also researching in video games localisation.
