Biographical Details:

Lecturer in School of Nursing and Human Sciences, DCU. Current Director of Teaching and Learning in SNHS. Programme co-ordinator for the Certificate in Homeless Prevention and Intervention. Working experience of a range of mental and general health care contexts in Ireland and Britain with particular interest in educational and research inquiry/development. Other biogrphical info - 2005 Nominated for the President¿s Award for Teaching and Learning DCU. 2009 ¿ Successful tender (¿125,040) for the Provision of Accredited Training for Managers and Key Workers in the Homeless Sector - ongoing responsibility for this educational delivery at DCU. Reviewer for The Journal of Psychiatric and Mental health Nursing (2004 ¿ present). Pathway leader for BSc in Mental Health Nursing DCU 2002-2006. Post-graduate Convenor SNHS 2008 -2011. Current external examiner for undergraduate programmes in Mental Health Nursing, Queens University Belfast. 2010 Completed EdD in Narrative Inquiry at University of Bristol. Interested in arts-based and narrative approaches in education, research and healthcare practice. Qualifications -RGN (1984), RMN (1987), BA Modern Arts (1990), P.G. Research Interests:

Narrative and arts-based approaches in healthcare interventions, research and education. Power and discourse in healthcare/educational contexts. Homelessness as a social issue and personal experience.
