Biographical Details:
Dr. Muhammad Monjur Morshed (BSc Engg., MSc, PhD, MIEI) graduated with a degree (B.Sc) in Metallurgical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1997. After completion of his M.Sc. degree on Tribological Permormance of Phenolics Based (polymer matrix composite(PMC) materials) Brake Shoe Lining Materials at the same University in 1999, he was awarded as PhD studenship in the schoolof Mechanical and Manufacturing Engingineering, Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland to undertake research on deposit and characterize diamond like carbon (DLC) biocompatible coating and to improve the adhesion of the coating with principal surgical metals and polymer for the application of medical devices and implants. He obtained PhD degree from DCU in 2003. In 2006 he join in electronic industry call creative as functional tester in the group of production of electronic equipments for four months. Since August 2006 he has been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Nano Plasma Lab (NPL) Group at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and National Centre for Plasma Science and Technology (NCPST). He has been involving in the plasma etching, deposition and characterization of different types of plasma coated films using PVD (Sputtering), CVD, PECVD (Atmospheric and Low pressure plasma) and Vacuum Evaporator methods, and etching and plasma diagnostic using oxford instrument 80plus in clean room.
Research Interests:
Dry etching(plasma etching), Plasma Deposition Technique, Thin films/coatings, nanostructure materials and surface engineering, Material Characterization,Materials aspects of Tribology,Polymer matrix composite (PMC) materials, Modeling and Simulation
