Biographical Details:

Gerard Clinton is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse & Registered Nurse Tutor with a BSc in Nursing Practice Development, MSc in Nursing Education & Graduate Diploma in Statistics. He has recently completed his PhD, for which he studied the clinical judgement and decision-making of psychiatric nurses. Before working in DCU he worked at the School of Psychiatric Nursing, St. Ita's Hospital, Portrane. His main area of clinical experience is in acute hospital psychiatry. He is a member of the Brunswik Society, the Psychiatric Nurses' Association and the Irish Institute of Mental Health Nursing. He was involved in ePsychNurse.Net, an international collaborative project to develop e-learning tools for psychiatric nurses around the care of people who are distressed and disturbed. For the coming academic year (2011/12) he will be co-ordinating Modules NS241, NS249, NS255, NS252, NS4520 & NS5001.
