Dr Sarahjane Belton

Biographical Details:

Sarahjane graduated with a degree is Physical Education and Maths from the University of Limerick in 2001. She taught physical education for a year in second level education (2001 - 2002) before completing a PhD in Physical Activity measurement at the University of Limerick in 2006. Sarahjane lectured in Physical Education in St Patricks college Drumcondra from 2006 - 2007, and has lectured in Physical Education (physical education and sport pedagogy, and curriculum studies) in the School of Health and Human Performance at Dublin City University from 2007 to present.

Research Interests:

Sarahjanes research interests broadly include the following - Physical activity measurement. Mentoring in Physical Education. Monitoring of physical activity levels in youth. Development and evaluation of interventions aimed at promoting physical activity in youth. Sarahjane is currently the principal investigator on a research project titled 'Y-PATH: Youth Physical Activity Towards Health', see http://www.dcu.ie/shhp/y_path.shtml for more details.
