Biographical Details:
Dr. Lorraine Boran, BA (Psych.), LL.B, Ph.D (Psych), Dip. (Law), Dip. (Statistics) is a lecturer in Psychology in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences, Dublin City Univeristy. After completing her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuropsychology in the School of Psychology in Trinity College Dublin, she worked for a number of years as programme director of Psychology in a number of institutions seeking programme validation and accreditation with the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) and the Psychological Society of Ireland. She began collaborative research at that time with Dr. David Delany, Centre for Academic Practice and Learning (CAPSL) at Trinity College Dublin, developing a novel concept mapping tool used in teaching and learning. Today, her research has branched into applied areas of cognitive psychology, including education and mental health, focusing on cognitive assessment, enhancement, rehabilitation and reserve. She currently collaborates with colleagues in CAPSL TCD; TCIN TCD; School of Education, TCD; School of Psychology NUIM; and the School of Medicine UCD.
