Biographical Details:

Dr Arijit Bhattacharya obtained his bachelor of mechanical engineering, master of production engineering and PhD degrees from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He has to his credit more than 60 peer-reviewed international / national journal papers, book chapters, international / national conference papers. Some of the papers of Arijit are highly cited in operations/production management journals. Arijit had worked with the Patent Office, India as an "Examiner of Patents & Designs" for nearly 8 years 8 months. During his days in the Patent Office he had got immense exposure with regard to commercialisation (primarily patenting and industrial design aspects) of industrial inventions meant for technology. Dr Bhattacharya was the recipient of IRCSET (Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering & Technology) Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2007. As an IRCSET Fellow, he worked at the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering during 2007-2009. During this period he worked in value-chain optimisation using multi-criteria decision-making techniques. During 2000-2002 Arijit had been working as a "Senior Research Fellow" in the Department of Production Engineering of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. The PhD thesis title was "Information Technology (I.T.) Application in Manufacturing Decision-Making Processes". Dr Bhattacharya is closely associated with several multi-disciplinary international journals as a reviewer. He serves as international programme committee member in many peer-reviewed international conferences. He has edited a special issue of the "Applied Soft Computing" journal as a Lead Guest Editor.
