Biographical Details:

Dr Brian Corcoran�s research group examines the problems of high purity water system pipe dead-legs in the bioprocess, pharmaceutical and semi-conductor industry. The group has recently challenged the industrially held 6-D rule and research is currently ongoing in relation to heat-transfer and contamination in ultra-pure water systems. The use of state of the art computational fluid dynamic techniques is key to the success of the groups research. His group also carries out research into sustainable energy, energy monitoring, wireless sensor networks, Lab-on-a-Chip and bio-fouling. Recent developments include work with the Water is Life project aimed at inproving water supply and water quality in developing countries
