Biographical Details:

After graduating from GMIT with a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting, trained as a chartered accountant in KPMG before moving into industry, working for several years for a Japanese pharmaceuticals company. While working in industry completed a Masters of Business Studies by Research under the supervision of Prof. Bernard Pierce. Currently working as a lecturer in DCU Business School and undertaking doctoral research, again under the supervision of Prof. Bernard Pierce.

Research Interests:

Completed a masters by research entitled Management Perspectives on the Role of the Management Accountant as an Information Provider, published at several conference proceedings. Currently pursuing doctoral research examining the role of accounting information in New Product Development. This is qualitative, case-study research, drawing heavily on 'strong structuration theory' as introduced by Bob Stones. In general my research interests are focused on the role of accountants and accounting information, particularly from the perspective of users, or managers, and currently focusing on non-routine circumstances such as during new product development projects.
