Dr Gerard Moore
Biographical Details:
Geard Moore is the Head of the School of Nursing and Human Sciences His previous work in DCU included, programme chair for the Doctorate and Masters in Psychotherapy based at the School of Nursing and Human Sciences in Dublin City University, course co-ordinator for the Graduate Diploma in Nursing programmes for Substance Abuse and Addiction and the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health of Older People and the Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Prior to working in DCU he was an Assistant Director of Nursing in the Mental Health Services. Since commencing work in DCU he has been involved in a number of research projects in the field of psychotherapy, nursing and addiction.
Research Interests:
Research Interests include; Prison based counselling and psychotherapy services, Transference in the Irish Mental Health Services, The Unconscious impact of caring in the mental health services, Self harm, Suicide and recurrent suicide attempts, and addiction. Addiction Bibliotherapy The visual in male sexual identity Psychotherapists¿ work with people on prescribed psychotropic substances Psychopathology.
