Dr Jane Suiter
Biographical Details:
Dr. Jane Suiter is a political scientist in the School of Communications at Dublin City University. Her research is mainly on Irish politics and particularly political communications, political campaigns and referendum voting. She also does work on political reform and is interested in deliberative democracy. Jane is as a member of the academic team of We the Citizens, an Atlantic Philanthropies-sponsored pilot citizens' assembly, dailwatch,ie and women on air. She also works on pork barrel politics and partisan spending. Jane is a frequent contributor to broadcast and print media and is a former journalist having worked as Economics Editor at The Irish Times and for other papers such as The Sunday Times and Sunday Independent.
Research Interests:
My research interests centre around political communication and in particular political reform participative democracy and citizen assemblies. I am also interested in the interaction between economics and political science and in particular pork barrel politics and economic voting.
