Dr. Cliodhna Murphy
Biographical Details:
Clíodhna is a lecturer in the School of Law and Government. She lectures primarily in the area of Company Law. Prior to joining DCU in September 2012, Clíodhna was a post-doctoral fellow in UCC, working on an Irish Research Council-funded Senior Fellowship Project entitled "Migrant Domestic Workers and EU Migration Law Regimes; exploring the limits of human rights protections". She has lectured in International Human Rights Law in Trinity College Dublin and has also taught classes in Public International Law on the China-EU School of Law Masters Programme (University of Beijing) and in the School of International Affairs masters programme at Sciences Po, Paris. Clíodhna is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (LLB (Lingua Franca) 2004; MLitt (Research) 2006; PhD 2011). In 2011, she completed her doctoral thesis, which is on the topic of "Integration and the Law: The Irish Experience in its European and International Context". Clíodhna was awarded an Ussher Fellowship from Trinity College to complete this doctoral work. Clíodhna is also a qualified solicitor and member of the Law Society of Ireland. She worked in McCann FitzGerald Solicitors for a number of years during the course of her training and on qualification.
