Biographical Details:

Sabine Moebs received her BA(hons) in Business Administration from the Open University, UK and her Diplom (BA) in Business Informatics from the Cooperative State University Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany in a joint degree program in 2002, her MSc(Res) in Learning Technologies from the National College of Ireland/HEA in 2008 and her PhD from Dublin City University in 2011. She is an Irish Research Council (IRC) Postdoctoral Fellow working in collaboration with FluidRock at the Digital Hub, Dublin. She is a member of RINCE, the Research Institute for Networks and Communications Engineering at DCU and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA) and webgrrls.de, the German business network for women in digital media. She is lecturer for the module Usability and Accessibility Engineering and has previously taught other subjects such as Business/Management Information Systems, Online Marketing, Usability Testing and Implementation, Business Communication and Software Engineering. Prior to this she was awarded a postgraduate scholarship in Innovative Learning Strategies, followed by a postgraduate scholarship under the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Rsearch Frontiers Project Performance-Aware Multimedia-based Adaptive Hypermedia (PAMAH) to conduct her Master by Research and PhD respectively. She has presented at numerous academic and professional conferences and published conference papers and articles in such journals as Journal of Universal Computer Science (JUCS), IEEE Learning Technologies Newsletter and International Journal of Advanced Corporate Learning (IJACL). She has worked in different research groups in Germany and Ireland. She was a member of the Performance Engineering Lab (PEL) at DCU and the Usability Lab at the National e-Learning Laboratory at the National College of Ireland. At Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering she was a member of the Requirements and Usability Engineering group, the SME SPICE assessment team, as well as a member of the Competence Center for Software Technology and Training, a research lab for SMEs. She is an experienced consultant, moderator and project manager in such diverse areas as regional development, business development in SMEs, learning technologies and in the area of user experience and accessibility.

Research Interests:

Currently my main research interests are in the areas of cross-device usability, accessibility and learner user experience as well as learning processes for learners in public administration.
