Dr Barbara Flood
Biographical Details:
Barbara Flood is Professor of Accounting at Dublin City University. Previously, she completed a BA in Accounting and Finance at DCU and a Master of Accounting (MAcc) at UCD, She is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, having completed her professional training with KPMG. Her principal research explores students' learning approaches and learning experiences in higher education and in the professional accounting context and she completed her PhD at Loughborough University. She has published in many peer-reviewed journals and is currently an Associate Editor for 'Accounting Education: An International Journal'. She teaches a range of management accounting modules at DCU Business School and is currently Head of the Accounting Group.
Research Interests:
Accounting Education within higher education and the profession: students' learning experiences, conceptions of learning, learning approaches, perceptions of teaching and course quality, students' motivations, expectations and preparedness for further study, the construction of professional identity among accounting trainees.
