PhD in Computer Science, Cambridge, 1997. BSc (Joint Honours) in Mathematics and Computer Science, University College Dublin, 1989.

Research Interests:

Non-symbolic (or sub-symbolic) Artificial Intelligence. All types of self-modifying, learning, evolving or self-organising models of control or models of mind. Adaptive Behavior, Reinforcement Learning, Artificial Life. Action Selection in decentralised Society of Mind models. Decentralising large AI minds on the Internet (the "World-Wide-Mind").
