The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Dublin City University was established in 1987. The school already runs four undergraduate degree, the B.Eng. in Mechatronic Engineering, in conjunction with the School of Electronic Engineering, the Degree in Biomedical Engineering, the Degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and the Degree in Manufacturing Engineering with Business Studies. The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering also offer an Open Opportunities in Engineering Course which can also be applied for, to enter the above programmes. To facilitate students who are unsure as to which of the latter three programmes they wish to pursue, a limited number of places on the second year of each programme is reserved for students who enter (DC198 MMEN) the undenominated B.Eng. in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering programme. For information on our liaison details click here.
The school also offers a postgraduate taught Access, Graduate Diploma and Masters (MSc) in Computer Aided Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering degree.
The key areas of Research identified by the school as strategic research themes are: Biomedical Engineering, Innovative Manufacturing and Sustainable Technology.
The Schools research groups are Materials Processing Research Centre, Enterprise Process Research Centre, and clusters exist in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer and Complex Analytical & Numerical Modelling
