Information about the Garden

The Memorial Garden was formally opened by the President of the university, Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, on Tuesday 2^nd December 2008. Photographs of the formal opening may be viewed here.

The Garden is overseen by a committee, the membership of which is drawn from a range of departments within the university. Staff from the Estates Office undertake the professional gardening work and give advice on maintenance. The initial developmental work on the Garden was undertaken free of charge by the McKeon Group, John Moore and Son Ltd. and John Dennis Electrical Ltd.. The Committee wishes to express appreciation to all involved.

Visitors are kindly requested not to place flowers or mementoes in the Garden.

This garden is dedicated to the memory of all deceased members of the university community. We therefore cannot permit the planting of any items in remembrance of a specific individual.
