Mary Davis addresses women's networking forum at DCU

Ms Mary Davis, President and Managing Director of Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia and former independent Presidential candidate has addressed the Women’s Innovation Network (WIN@DCU) entitled ‘I am, in Business, in Community, in Politics .... A Woman of Influence’.

The WIN@DCU speaker series supports DCU’s strategic themes of Engagement and Enterprise by highlighting the achievements of innovative women in business, science, communications and the humanities. The Spring 2012 lecture invited guests to join in an interactive forum examining the influential roles played by women in business, community and politics and exploring areas where women are still under-represented. The event aimed to empower and support students by giving them the opportunity to meet with successful female role models while also offering a learning and networking opportunity to alumni and friends.

Senator Marie-Louise O’Donnell introduced proceedings and discussions were led by: Kerry O’Keeffe, Founder of People and Culture; Julia Carmichael, Chief Compliance Officer, Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurances Ltd; Nicola Horgan Rogers, Dress for Success; Deirdre Garvey, CEO, The Wheel; Caroline McDonagh, CEO of West of Ireland Networking; Michelle O’Donnell Keating and Niamh Gallagher, Co-founders, Women for Election.
