DCU President speaks at ESOF Policy Day
DCU President, Professor Brian MacCraith will take part in a panel discussion on The Future of Innovation Policy – Forging Policy in Uncertain Times as part of the Euroscience Open Forum in the Convention Centre Dublin on Friday 13th July.
Professor MacCraith will be joined by Sean Sherlock TD, Minister for Research & Innovation; Martin Shanahan, Forfás Chief Executive; John Bell, Chef de Cabinet for Commissioner Geoghegan Quinn; and Ken Guy, Head of Science & Technology Policy Division, OECD to examine the current state of play in Ireland's research, development and innovation policy.
On Sunday 15th July, DCU Invent, the university's Technology Transfer Office, will host a seminar What should universities do to encourage more spin-outs and licensing arrangements? as part of the Science 2 Business programme. This highly interactive session brings together world leaders in the area of innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialisation to give their unique perspectives on how universities can increase the number of spin-out companies and licensing deals.
