Dr. Paul van Kampen, winner of the NAIRTL National Awards for Excellence in Teaching
Dr Paul van Kampen, School of Physical Sciences, Dublin City University, will receive one of six awards at the NAIRTL National Awards for Excellence in Teaching at Dublin Castle on 17 September 2012.
The National Academy for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (NAIRTL) was established in 2007, and its vision is one where research and teaching go hand in hand. This is the fifth year of this prestigious initiative and features the largest number of recipients to date.
The NAIRTL Awards recognise higher education teachers who demonstrate outstanding dedication to their teaching and have made an exceptional impact on student learning. This award also recognises their subject based expertise as well as their passion and interest in cultivating the potential in their students.
This year's winners are no exception and were chosen from thirty-one detailed submissions from fourteen different HEIs across Ireland. The 2012 winners represent disciplines as diverse as Business, Chemistry, Geography, the Humanities, Paediatrics, and Physical Sciences, and were nominated by senior staff in their institution to go forward for the highly competitive award.
