DCU GRADUATE UP FOR LATIN GRAMMY AWARD

Emer Patten, DCU graduate and Executive Producer with Splinter Films has been nominated for a Grammy, along with Nick Wickham (Director), at this year's Latin Grammy Awards. The nomination in the Best Long Form Video category is for Shakira: En Vivo Desde Paris (Live From Paris) and the winners will be announced this Thursday November 15th, 2012, in Las Vegas.

Reacting to the nomination, Emer said,

"For us to be nominated for a Latin Grammy is a huge honour and we are delighted that our work has been recognised in this way. The Grammys are the pinnacle of our industry peer awards so we are delighted and we're particularly pleased that our work with Shakira has been singled out."

The film is the Director and Producer team's most recent of several collaborations with Sony Music and the Columbian megastar and follows in the wake of their platinum-selling Shakira: Oral Fixation Tour (2006).

Established in 1997, London-based production company Splinter Films has spent the last 15 years specialising in producing live concert films and live events with clients that include Madonna, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Beyoncé and many more.

Continuing to push boundaries in this niche market, Splinter most recently completed film projects with Rihanna ("Loud: Live at The O2") and Katy Perry (3D concert footage for "Katy Perry: Part Of Me") in addition to their work with celebrated British fashion brand Burberry.
