Fresher A
DCU 4-15 UUJ 1-13
@St.Claire's

Last Tuesday the Fresher A team ensured they would top the group and would book a place in this year's league Semi -Final with an impressive victory over UUJ.  The conditions for the two sides were very poor but both tried valiantly.  Regardless of this, DCU led at half-time 1-7, 0-7.  The first half saw UUJ dominate early on but DCU regrouped and got goal before the break which came from Aaron Byrne at a great time for DCU .

In the second half, DCU played some really good football with a brace of goals coming from Cian Mulligan while Shane Carty was very impressive at midfield.  UUJ tried to get back into the match but the DCU goals killed off any challenge from the Belfast university.  The win ensured a place in this year's League Semi-Finals .

@St.Claire's

Last Tuesday also saw the Fresher B Team, managed by Brendan Gillen,  play the last game of the league and book a place in this year's semi finals with a hard-fought victory over UUJ.  The match was hard going due to poor weather but both sides played expertly in the conditions.  At half time DCU led 1-4, 0-3 and looked to be in good shape but UUJ regrouped and really put it up the DCU team. The game was well balanced towards the final few minutes of play but DCU showed great character as they finished the half with a goal from Jamie McDonnell.  The Semi Final will take place next week.

Quarter Final
DCU 1-16  DIT 1-9
@Bray Emmett's

On Thursday DCU and DIT, the two great rivals, met in the quarter-final of this year's senior league.  It wasn't the best of conditions which saw a late change of venue but DCU settled well and throughout the match were well deserving of their victory.  Donnie Smith was impressive at centre forward while Conor McGraynor was once again very dangerous in the full forward line.  This win booked DCU a place in this year's Semi-Final where they play UCC tonight.

Intermediate

@St.Claire's

DCU and DIT met again in the Senior League on Thursday and once again came out on the right side of the result.  DCU were made to work for the victory but Simon McCoy, in really good form in the full forward line, was key in ensuring DCU proceeded to the Intermediate Semi-Final against IT Sligo next week.

Ladies Football Semi - Final
DCU 7-13
UCC   0-8
@St.Claire’s

DCU booked a place in this year’s league final after a very impressive win over UCC last Wednesday.  DCU came into the match as underdogs but soon showed they were well up for this league semi-final, netting three times in the opening half.  A goal from from Siobhan Woods accompanied a brace from Lindsay Peat as both players proved to be real threats for the UCC defence throughout the 60 minutes.  Mayo’s Sarah Rowe and Lucy Collins also got their names on the score sheet in the opening half.

After the restart DCU continued to dominate as they ensured victory with 1-3 without reply inside the first five minutes of the second half, the goal coming from Leah Collins from a ball played in by Lindsay Peat.  DCU were in complete control of this match and continued their flow of attack to which the Cork College had no response.  Outstanding performances on the night came from Lindsay Peat, Sarah Rowe, Laura McEnaney and Siobhan Woods .
