Creating business for a better world

DCU Ryan Academy is seeking applications for a new Social Enterprise Start-Up programme designed for those interested in creating new, exciting social businesses.

Forfás, in a recently published report on Social Enterprise in Ireland as part of the Action Plan for Jobs, reported that the social enterprise sector in Ireland currently employs between 25 000 and 33 0000 people in approximately 1400 social enterprises with a total income of approx. €1.4 billion, with the potential to double by 2020.

The free FETAC Level 6 programme will run over 6 weeks from Saturday 4th October, allowing participants to explore their social enterprise idea and work through a plan to take it to market.  It is based on an interactive start-up curriculum consisting of weekly training with experts in the field.

The programme, run by the Menter Iontach Nua team at DCU Ryan Academy, is part-funded by the ERDF through the Ireland Wales Programme 2007-2013 and will be offered free of charge to eligible participants.

Places on this programme are limited and all applicants will be assessed on the information provided in their application.  To apply, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SEStart-Up.
