DCU Graduate Joins RTÉ News as Presenter

This September, 22 year old Nick Sheridan from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford became a new TV presenter on RTÉ, and the newest addition to the news2day team.

news2day is RTÉ’s news service designed specifically for children and features Irish and international news of interest to a young audience. Nick now co-presents the programme, broadcast weekdays at 4.25pm on RTÉ Two and RTÉ News Now.

Nick studied Journalism in Dublin City University before working as a journalist and researcher in Newstalk 106-108, and TV3. He attended St. Senan's Primary School in Enniscorthy, and then St. Peter's College in Wexford Town where he did his Leaving Cert in 2010.

Nick loves to read, sing, cook, swim, watch TV, and play a mean tune on the fiddle. He also loves film and film-making, and in 2009 was named Young Irish Film-Maker of the Year, travelling to South Korea to attend the Seoul International Youth Film Festival.

Nick joins current news2day presenter Orla Walsh, a native of Co. Clare. Before news2day, Orla was a presenter on Spin South West radio station, a singer in Bunratty Castle and a piano teacher – bit of a multi-tasker ! She has a great love of music and she regularly takes to the stage in different musical theatre productions.
