Final Call for President’s Awards for Innovation 2015

The President’s Awards for Innovation 2015 are currently open for nominations.  If you would like to see a colleague’s or student’s outstanding contribution to innovation in DCU or its linked colleges recognised and rewarded, visit this link to put forward your nomination here. The deadline for applications for the President’s Awards for Innovation is 10th April 2015 at 5pm. The winner in each category will receive €2,500.

Award for Innovation - Administrative and Support Staff
Award for Innovation - Academic and Research Staff

1.  Award for Innovation - Students
This award is for a new product, service or business process conceived by students of DCU or Linked Colleges, that is making (or has the potential to make) a significant difference in a social, educational, clinical or economic context. The Student Category includes recently graduated students since the last award in June 2014.

2.  Award for Innovation - Administrative and Support Staff
This award is for a new, or significantly enhanced process or method which was conceived and adopted internally at DCU or Linked Colleges and which led to a tangible and demonstrable benefit to DCU or Linked Colleges.

3.  Award for Innovation - Academic and Research Staff
This award is for a product or process based substantially on research carried out at DCU or Linked Colleges with significant utility (social, educational, clinical or industrial/economic) and which has been endorsed by an external entity as having a potential impact on society or industry.

Who is eligible to apply?
All current staff and students at DCU/Linked Colleges are welcome to apply for this award.
The Student Category includes recently graduated students since the last award in June 2014.
Individuals who have previously received an award must wait two years before being eligible again.

Nomination Process
Nominee(s) must be either currently employed by DCU/Linked College or a current student(s). Self-nominations will not be accepted. All applicants must be proposed/endorsed by an unconnected DCU/Linked Colleges staff member or a senior representative from an external agency/entity.

Selection process
The selection process will be undertaken by a sub-committee of the DCU Innovation Working Group along with a number of external evaluators.

Award Ceremony
Presentation of the awards will take place at an award ceremony in The Helix, DCU on 23rd April 2015.
