DCU host ceremony to honour victims of the attack on Garissa University

On Thursday last, Garissa University College in Kenya came under attack from militants and 148 people died, almost all of them young students and many of them student teachers.

 

Today, Dublin City University, in partnership with St. Patrick’s College, held a short open-air ceremony to remember the victims of this awful tragedy and to express sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved.

 

The Kenyan Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Richard Opembe, was in attendance and a book of condolences was opened and will remain open for signing in the lobby Inter Faith Centre until Wednesday, 15th April for those who wish to express their sympathy in this way.
