Past and present DCU students get set for Rio 2016

Past and present DCU students will prepare to shine at the 2016 Rio Olympics which began, (Friday, August 5th) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Fionnuala McCormack (nee Britton), a graduate of Sports Science and Health will compete for Ireland in this year’s marathon.

Greta Streimikyte, who is currently studying International Relations at DCU will take part in the Rio Paralympics competing in the T13 1500m.

Meanwhile, twin brothers David and Conor Harte will also play a big role at Rio 2016. David, a Physical Education and Biology graduate and Conor, a DCU Business Graduate were part of the Irish squad which faced India in the opening round of the Olympic hockey campaign on Saturday, August 8th.
